Lethem is Guyana’s southernmost town. It was declared a township in the year 2016 by President David Granger. The town borders the Brazilian municipality of Bonfim, Roraima, Brazil.
Lethem is considered a gateway to Guyana’s southern neighbor, Brazil, as well as a hub for Rupununi tourism.
