The Lethem – Georgetown Trail, also called the Lethem – Linden trail is a 3000 miles stretch of sand and gravel from the town of Lethem at the South to the Linden in Region 10, Guyana, South America. The trail is cut mostly through the Amazon Rainforest. At present, the trail poses many difficulties to motorists, however, there are plans to construct a paved road along the trail.

The trail is replete with beautiful scenery. Here’s one of a two cows and birds against a background of beautiful tree and sky.

The Kurupukari River Crossing is where the mighty Essequibo River cuts across the Lethem – Linden Trail. Presently, there are ongoing plans to construct a bridge over the Essequibo at Kurupukari in order to facilitate smoother flow of traffic across the trail. At present, there is a ferry that crosses the river every hour from 6 AM to 6 PM. The ferry takes vehicles and passengers across the river.

The Kurupukari River Crossing is where the mighty Essequibo River cuts across the Lethem – Georgetown trail. A ferry takes vehicles across the river every hour of the day from 6: AM to 6 PM. There are presently plans to construct a bridge over the river at this point.

Mabura – Lethem – Linden Trail – Scenes

Mabura is a village located along the Lethem – Linden trail at Region 10, Guyana, South America – about 127 km from Linden when traveling to Lethem. The village, also known as “Great Falls” village, contains a police outpost which is a checkpoint for passengers traveling along the Lethem – Linden Trail. Opposite the outpost is a restaurant for hungry travelers along the trail.

Mabura – Lethem – Linden Trail

Mabura is located about 127 km from Linden when traveling to Lethem along the Lethem – Georgetown trail in Guyana, South America. The village contains a police outpost which is a checkpoint for people traveling to and from Lethem along the Lethem – Linden Trail. Right opposite the police outpost is a restaurant and snackette which serves hungry travelers along the trail.

The Kurupukari Crossing is located at Kurupukari Village along the Lethem – Linden Trail in Guyana, South America. This is where the mighty Essequibo River cuts across the Trail as it flows along.

The ferry takes vehicles across every hour from dawn till dusk every day.

Kurupukari Village is located along the Lethem – Linden Trail about 5 hours’ drive from Lethem and about 8 hours when coming from Linden, Guyana, South America.

In Kurupukari, the Essequibo River cuts across the trail as it flows along. Although the location may be referred to as the “Kurupukari River Crossing,” it is important to note that the name of the river that crosses the trail is not “Kurupukari” but the Essequibo River.

The ferry takes vehicles across the river at Kurupukari every hour of the day from 6 AM to 6 PM.

As of August 2019, there are ongoing talks about constructing a bridge over the Essequibo River at Kurupukari.

The Lethem – Linden Trail is an approximately 300 miles trail cut mostly through the Amazon Rainforest in Guyana, South America. From Georgetown, the trail provides access to Guyana’s interior locations as well as the neighboring country of Brazil.
