This photo shows the road leading from the roundabout near to the Takutu Gas Station in Lethem to the Lethem Airport in Region 9, Guyana, South America.

The Lethem Airport is served mainly by two local airlines: Air Services Guyana and Trans Guyana. It offers flights to and from Georgetown as well as occasional flights to the North and South Rupununi Savannahs.

Lethem is Guyana’s southernmost town. It was declared a township in the year 2016 by President David Granger. The town borders the Brazilian municipality of Bonfim, Roraima, Brazil.

Lethem is considered a gateway to Guyana’s southern neighbor, Brazil, as well as a hub for Rupununi tourism.

The Lethem Airport in Rupununi Savannahs, Region 9, Guyana, South America offers flights to Georgetown as well as various interior locations in the Rupununi. Currently, there are no international flights to or from neighboring Brazil. The airport is serviced by two airlines: Trans Guyana and Air Services. In this photo, a Trans Guyana plane lands with passengers from Ogle at the Lethem Airport.

The border town of Lethem is located to the south of Guyana in the Upper Takutu – Upper Essequibo Region (Region 9) of Guyana, South America. It borders the Brazilian municipality of Bonfim. Lethem was declared a town in the year 2016 by the David Granger Administration. In October 2017, Lethem celebrated its first year of township with the first ever Lethem Town Week. As another beautiful day dawned over Lethem, this photo was taken from the third floor of the Amazonas Hotel in Lethem, Region 9, Guyana, South America. The Takutu River separates the town of Lethem from the Brazilian municipality of Bonfim, and the Takutu River Bridge connects the two countries. The town of Lethem is located to the south of Guyana, South America. It forms a border with the Brazilian municipality of Bonfim, Brazil. Lethem was declared a town by the David Granger Administration in the year 2016 – about 1 year after taking office.

The town of Lethem is located in Region 9 of Guyana, South America. Lethem consists of the Lethem Regional Hospital, the Lethem Town Council and the Lethem Power Company – which is solely responsible for supplying electricity to the residents of Lethem. At present, there is no Lethem Secondary School – the students attend St. Ignatius Secondary in the neighboring village of St. Ignatius. However, there are talks ongoing of setting up a Secondary School to serve the residents of Lethem.

The border town of Lethem in Region 9, Guyana, South America, provides an access point for people traveling to and from neighboring Brazil. It also provides a gateway to many parts of Guyana’s interior – including the well-known gold mining area called “Marudi.” This photo shows the roundabout which is located near to the Lethem Power Company building. Turn left to to the Lethem Airport, turn right to the Lethem Market or Post Office and do a U-turn to return along Lethem’s Main Commercial Highway – Barrack Retreat.
