Beautiful Scene in Sand Creek Village

Sand Creek Village is located in the South Rupununi Savannahs of Guyana, South America. It can be reached by driving one hour from Lethem.

To get to Sand Creek, one often needs to cross a small creek. Sometimes, the creek is high with water and sometimes it is dry. Here is a beautiful photo as we crossed the creek en route to Sand Creek Secondary.

Sand Creek Village, South Rupununi

This beautiful view of the South Rupununi Savannahs was taken from the Sand Creek Secondary School Compound at Sand Creek Village, South Rupununi, Region 9, Guyana, South America.

The photo shows a group of secondary school students enjoying lunch at the foot of the beautiful mountains.

The village of Sand Creek in the South Rupununi Savannahs of Guyana got its name from a creek named Katu’wao, which, in the Wapishana language means “sand creek.”
