Last updated: October 14, 2024 at 17:25 pmOne of the few things that Guyanese sometimes complain about is the heat. Guyana is a generally hot country most of the time. But it’s really not that bad. Some people would say that Guyana has beautiful climate. But it gets even better! There is a place in Guyana where the temperature ranges from 15 to 8 degrees Celsius!
Resident of Karisparu in Region 8, Rihanna Williams, shared information about the beautiful climate in her hometown via a Facebook post, reproduced below.

Hello everyone! I have seen a lot of persons asking where this photo was taken. Some are asking if I am in Chile , Canada
and other countries. I am here to tell you NO! This picture was taken in my beautiful Village called KARISPARU. It is located in Region #8, Potaro/Siparuni. In this village, the temperature can go as low as 8 degrees Celsius.
Timing: The coldness begins between 2 PM to 3 PM, and in the morning
, the time when you can comfortably bathe in the creeks would be around 9 AM to 10 AM.
In Karisparu, if you are not wearing cold weather clothing that the one I’m sporting in the photo, you would be shivering. Also, during the cold hours, when a person speaks or opens his/her mouth, you will see VAPOR coming out of the mouth.
My village is not the coldest in the region. PARAMAKATOI and KATO ARE COLDER AND KURUKABARU IS THE COLDEST ANYONE CAN SPEAK ABOUT.

I’m from the border with Brazil , south ish Rupununi, Region 9, and I remember once somewhere in the Acarai mountains my brother , a cousin and I had to put ashes under our hammocks to stay warm, precisely around Guns ( wai-wai) territory, temps were close to 0° C.
