Region 6, also known as the East Berbice – Corentyne Region, is one of Guyana’s ten Administrative Regions. Region 6 is bordered by Suriname to the East, the Atlantic Ocean to the North, Brazil to the South, and Regions 5, 8, 9, and 10 to the West. Most of the ancient county of Berbice is located in Region 6.

The Berbice River Bridge crosses the Berbice River from the Canje/New Amsterdam area to D’Edward Village in Region 6. The economy of Region 6 is powered primarily by farming – especially rice farming and cash crop farming. Several sugar estates such as the Albion and Canje Estates provide employment for thousands of residents of Region 6.
