Some products that are unique to the Rupununi Savannahs include:
Tasso – a presentation of dried beef that can last for protracted periods of time without refrigeration.
Farine – a Cassava product that is popular in Region 9 and across neighboring Brazil. It is a high carb product that is eaten with rice, meat, and a wide variety of other foods.
Potato Fly – an alcoholic beverage made from cassava.
Cassava Casareep – Although cassava casareep is not produced exclusively in the Rupununi, it is mostly produced in the Rupununi, and you can be assured that you are getting high quality casareep produced through the original method.
