Last updated: April 23, 2023 at 17:56 pmWhen traveling to Lethem in the Rupununi Savannahs of Guyana, South America, the Kanuku Lodge Hotel in Lethem is one of your options if you’re looking for a place to spend the night – or a few nights, etc. The Kanuku Lodge Hotel is located along Lethem’s Main Commercial Road- right next to Frontier Pharmacy and opposite Reeaz Computer Store. Obliquely opposite is Macedo’s Gas Station.
The Kanuku Lodge Hotel in Lethem sports a total of about 22 rooms. The prices range from $6000 GYD to $8,000 GYD. All rooms are air-conditioned and self-contained (toilet and bath included). However, on my last visit (19th of January 2020) I was told that none of the rooms have warm water showers.
The Kanuku Lodge Hotel in Lethem features a restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to guests. However, you have to order lunch and dinner a few hours in advance – that is, inform the staff that you would require lunch or dinner. Breakfast on the other hand is readily available. Guests staying in the $7000 and $8000 rooms are entitled to free breakfast, however, guests staying in the $6000 rooms need to pay $1000 for breakfast.
The Kanuku Lodge Hotel is also commonly called “Macedo’s Hotel” because the proprietor of the hotel is Mr. Macedo and his family – who also owns the gas station obliquely oppositive – Macedo’s Gas Station.
