The Rupununi Eco Hotel: Location
The Rupununi Eco Hotel is located just a few meters away from Lethem’s commercial center. From the main commercial road, take the street which runs between the GRA building and China Star General Store and walk a few meters. Look left and you will see the Rupununi Eco Hotel.

Rupununi Eco Hotel: The Rooms
During my last visit to the Rupununi Eco Hotel, air conditioned rooms started from as low as $8,000.00 (GYD) and can go as high as $20,000.00. In January, 2020, I stayed in one of the Economy Rooms ($8,000) at the Rupununi Eco Hotel. Please note that these prices might have updated, so check with the hotel using the contact information provided below.
One thing that sets the Rupununi Eco Hotel apart from other hotels in Lethem is the size of its rooms. The rooms are generally bigger and more spacious than most of the other hotels I’ve stayed at in Lethem.
Another thing that caught my attention was the shower. The water was perfectly warm: neither too hot nor too cold – which is a problem I had experienced in some other hotels. In fact, the water from the shower felt so good that I didn’t want to leave the shower after I had started bathing!

The Rupununi Eco Hotel: The Restaurant
The Rupununi Eco Hotel has a kitchen that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to guests of the hotel only – no service to walk in customers. The downside to the kitchen is that you have to place your order for breakfast, lunch, or dinner a few hours in advance – because the cook only prepares meals on order.
The upside is that the food is really great and most of the time, you can get whatever you order. For example, I ordered mutton curry and dhall with rice and it was served to me on a silver platter at the appointed time. However, I’m not sure, if, like the magic genie, the cook would “always” be able to “conjure up” whatever you want. However, I was impressed that what I had ordered was so readily available.

The Rupununi Eco Hotel: Additional Features
The Rupununi Eco Hotel in Lethem also sports a bar for you to sip a few beers or wine and a wonderful backyard view of the Kanuku Mountains. And needless to say, WiFi, like anywhere else, is free for guests.
