Tumatumarie Falls is another splendid waterfall located at Tumatumarie, Region 8, Guyana, South America. Tumatumarie at this point in time is unpopulated. To get to Tumatumarie from Georgetown, you can drive to Mahdia and then to Tumatumarie. The closest village with a population is El Paso.
Tumatumarie Falls, interestingly, is the site of Guyana’s first hydropower plant, which unfortunately is now defunct, and which was constructed during the rule of President Forbes Burnham.
Below is a splendid video of the Tumatumarie Falls contributed by Guyanese citizen and tour guide, Stephen Amsterdam.
