Tumung Falls is doubtless one of Guyana’s most picturesque waterfalls….as you can see from the photos below. It is located in Maikwak Village, North Pakaraimas, Region 8, Guyana, South America.
To get to Tumung Falls from Georgetown, you first have to fly to Kopinang Village. From there, you can either trek (3 hours) or take an ATV (1 hour) to Maikwak Village. At Maikwak, you may need to pay a village entry fee of $6,000 and a tour guide fee of $8,000 per day. At the time of this writing (last updated May 2023) the cost for airfare to Kopinang is $60,000 return.
There is a beautiful guest house at Maikwak Village which provides accommodation and meals to travelers at a reasonable cost.
Just looking at the pictures of the Ty-Mung Falls made me want to visit more of my country. It is so awesome and beautiful!!
