Visit Ariwa Beach at St. Ignatius Village, Region 9, on the bank of the Takutu River which forms part of the border between Guyana and Brazil, and get to know the wonderful, receptive, and hospitable Jonathan Joseph and his wife, Edione. Together, Jonathan and Edione have cordoned off a small section of the Takutu River Beach and created what they call the Ariwa Beach Resort.

To get to Ariwa Beach Resort in Region 9, you first have to travel to the town of Lethem. The Ariwa Beach Resort is located just five minutes’ drive from the Lethem Airport. First, go to the Lethem Airport. From there, drive towards St. Ignatius Village. Once you cross the bridge and enter St. Ignatius Village, drive straight for about five minutes. You will pass the well known St. Ignatius Benab on your right. Keep driving straight and you will reach the NAREI office almost at the end of the street. There, you will see a sign under the big trees directing you to Ariwa Beach Resort.

I’ve travelled all over Guyana, and I can say with certainty that the hospitality services provided by Mr. Jonathan Joseph and his team at Ariwa Beach Resort is second to none.

Jonathan and Edione charge a nominal fee of 500 Guyana dollars per adult and 300 Guyana dollars per child for visitors to the Ariwa Beach Resort. Once at the Ariwa Beach Resort, you will not only enjoy the sun, sand, and refreshing breeze of the Ariwa Beach, but the exceptional hospitality of Jonathan and his team.

Jonathan Joseph, a skilled mixologist, dedicated tour guide, and nature enthusiast, together with his family and employees, is doing what he absolutely loves at Ariwa Beach Resort – making people feel at home away from home.

There, you will have the option to purchase traditional indigenous cuisine such as tuma pot, roasted fish and beef, and a variety of other foods customary to the people of Region 9 along with soothing and enjoyable music. Your on-the-spot tour guide, Jonathan, and his team, will guide you on the way forward to enjoying the waters of the Takutu River. The option of going on a boat cruise up the Takutu River is also available.

If you have any difficulties finding Ariwa Beach, you can ask any taxi driver in Lethem to take you, or ask directions from the locals of Lethem or St. Ignatius Village. You can also contact Mr. Jonathan Joseph directly on: (529) 667 6083 (WhatsApp Available).
