Last updated: September 7, 2024 at 22:44 pmGuyana Defense Force service member, 26080 Lance Corporal Christopher Andre, died at his home at St. Ignatius Village, Rupununi, Region 9, on the 11th of August, 2024 during a family and friends gathering at his home. Reports are that Andre fell accidentally from the Verandah, about 20 feet, to the ground, and sustained fatal injuries.
Only the tragic incident happened off duty, GDF comrades, in a show of solidarity and brotherhood, traveled to St. Ignatius Village to pay their final respects to the fallen soldier. The funeral service was done according to Roman Catholic Christian rites after which the body was transported to the Lethem Cemetery for burial.
Team Guyana, South America joins in extending heartfelt condolences to the relatives and friends of Lance Corporal Christopher Andre. May his soul rest in peace and rise in power.
