How Can it Be True?

The Song, “La Isla Bonita,” originally sung by Madonna, starts off with the question, “Como Puede Ser Verdad,” which is Spanish for, “How Can it be True?” And I’m asking myself the same question after watching this breathtaking performance by Guyanese Singer/Performer Galina Edmund: How Can it Be True??

This out of the world remake of “La Isla Bonita,” which, in my opinion, is “better than the original,” was filmed in the scenic village of Paruima, Region 7, Guyana, South America. I can guarantee that it will blow your mind and leave you asking, “How Can It Be True?”

We use what we have. We are content with the little we get. This video was locally made by my best friend Emildra Anselmo with just her simple mobile 📳 cellphone and I recorded my song using my earplugs and a little microphone..☺️ Anyway folks….I hope you enjoy this Video La Isla Bonita 🎶 done our way.. # Paruima our home #lifeinparuima with Wendy Wanda Edmund, Mark David , Elvez Francez etc.

Lyrics

Como puede ser verdad

Last night I dreamt of San Pedro
Just like I’d never gone, I knew the song
A young girl with eyes like the desert
It all seems like yesterday, not far away

Tropical the island breeze
All of nature wild and free
This is where I long to be
La isla bonita
And when the samba played
The sun would set so high
Ring through my ears and sting my eyes
Your Spanish lullaby

I fell in love with San Pedro
Warm wind carried on the sea, he called to me
Te dijo te amo
I prayed that the days would last
They went so fast

Tropical the island breeze
All of nature wild and free
This is where I long to be
La isla bonita
And when the samba played
The sun would set so high
Ring through my ears and sting my eyes
Your Spanish lullaby

I want to be where the sun warms the sky
When it’s time for siesta you can watch them go by
Beautiful faces, no cares in this world
Where a girl loves a boy, and a boy loves a girl

Last night I dreamt of San Pedro
It all seems like yesterday, not far away

Tropical the island breeze
All of nature wild and free
This is where I long to be
La isla bonita
And when the samba played
The sun would set so high
Ring through my ears and sting my eyes
Your Spanish lullaby

Tropical the island breeze
All of nature wild and free
This is where I long to be
La isla bonita
And when the samba played
The sun would set so high
Ring through my ears and sting my eyes
Your Spanish lullaby
