The Takutu River bridge crosses over the Takutu River which separates Guyana from Brazil to the South of Guyana.
The Takutu River Bridge connects the two countries and provides easy access for citizens commuting daily or coming for tourism purposes. In addition, hundreds of Brazilians cross the bridge every day to purchase cheap Chinese merchandise from the Chinese stores in Lethem. That is because there are very few Chinese businesses in Brazil since Brazil makes it difficult for Chinese to import products into Brazil from China.
