A young woman was found dead in her apartment at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara, Guyana, South America, this morning. Local police say they are investigating an alleged suicide which is believed to have occurred between 1 AM and 4 AM this morning, 18th of August, 2023. 19-year-old Malinda Fiona Niewenkirk was found slumped down from a bedroom door with a sheet around her neck, one end fastened on top of the door. Her feet were comfortably on the floor.
The video posted above was filmed since January 2020 by Pastor Wendell Jeffery of Region 4, Guyana, South America. At that time, Pastor Jeffery was on holiday in Suriname. But upon seeing law and order in the bus parks in Suriname, which starkly contrasted with the mayhem at the bus parks in his own country, Pastor Jeffery’s patriotic spirit was ignited and he decided to do some work.
A prominent Guyanese citizen, Mr. Frank Satnarine, described a harrowing experience of being robbed at gunpoint in the capital city of Georgetown on the evening of Saturday, 23rd of July, 2022 at around 10:30 PM. These types of gunpoint robberies, perpetuated by youths on bicycles, are unfortunately not uncommon in Guyana, but are poorly reported upon, and even more poorly addressed by the Guyana Police Force. Guyanese, and foreigners visiting Guyana, are left at the mercy of these robbers who carry out their attacks as though it were a full time job, both in the day and night.
