An American evangelist and philanthropist, who has made his life purpose traveling around the world spreading the word of God while doing acts of charity, has crossed over from Brazil into the Rupununi Savannahs of Guyana. He, along with a young Brazilian apprentice, has been staying for the last week or so at the Takutu Hotel in Lethem. Chet says that his stay at the Takutu Hotel has been fantastic so far.
Chet Bailey travels around the world to bring the word of God to people. While he’s at it, he assists communities in any way he can. His last visits were Argentina and Brazil, and he spent a considerable time in remote villages in the Amazon Rainforest.
Chet says he tries to share the love of Christ in a non-conventional way. He says people are tired of being told that they are sinners and are going to hell, and people are rightfully suspicious of groups who come into their communities and take this approach. Instead, he chooses to demonstrate the love of God through positive actions and charitable works which impact the lives of people in tangible ways.
