Efforts are being carried out to locate the main suspect of being the perpetrator of the crime. PCRR identified him as Marcelo Magalhães da Silva, aka “China” or “Marijuana”, aged 26. He’s on the run.

According to information provided by delegate Rodrigo Gomides, since the date of the brutal double homicide, Bonfim police officers have taken steps to investigate the case and locate those accused of being the perpetrator of the crime. The police have already identified him.

According to the delegate, the police found the cell phone of one of the victims where the suspect was hiding. Police also found the clothes he wore on the day of the crime.

“Marcelo was identified from the first moment as the main suspect of being the perpetrator of the crime. The Military Police carried out investigations on the day of the crime and managed to reach a place where he was hiding, but he fled moments before the police arrived. His 16-year-old girlfriend, who helped him escape shortly after the crime, was arrested at the scene. The clothes he was wearing at the time of the crime and the cell phone of one of the victims were also seized,” said the delegate.

SOMEONE SEND TO KILL THEM?

The Civil Police, according to the delegate, has been working with two lines of investigations. The first, that the crime would be a robbery, was practically discarded. The second, that the crime may have been a double homicide, by contract.

“We are working with sensitive information, which cannot yet be shared so as not to harm the progress of the investigations. However, this morning’s action allowed us to serve the arrest warrant against the alleged mastermind of the crime. The warrant was served in a prison, where he is serving a sentence for another crime,” he explained.

In addition to arresting the alleged mastermind of the crime, the police also carried out a search and seizure warrant at his home.

“We didn’t find anything illegal. But we seized a cell phone and a vehicle used by him. All material seized since the date of the crime, such as the victims’ phones, for example, will be subjected to forensic examination. He (the person suspected of hiring the hitman) was interrogated and denied his participation in the crime. He said that he does not know the accused Marcelo and that he does not understand why he is being accused. The investigations will continue so that all the circumstances of the crime are fully clarified”, highlighted Gomides.
