The recount of all votes cast in the March 2, 2020 elections in Guyana continues today, 18th of May, 2020 at the Arthur Chung Convention Center in Georgetown, Guyana, South America.

At the end of today, a total of 53 more ballot boxes were completed. GECOM has announced that it will add two more counting stations tomorrow, 19th of May, 2020. That should bring the total number of counting stations up to 12.

Meanwhile, leader of the LJP, Lenox Shuman, has been accused of collaborating with the PPP/C once again, and the APNU/AFC ramps up their claims of dead and migrated persons voting in an apparent effort to declare the recount unusable.

In addition, the Carter Center, as well various international powers, continue to push for the return of the Carter Center observers. The APNU/AFC has maintained that the CARICOM observers are sufficient and there is no need for the Carter Center to return, however, the PPP/C and a conglomerate of small parties are anxious for the return of the Carter Center observers. In this regard, several persons were disbanded and one arrested for breaking COVID-19 rules after staging a protest in Georgetown, Guyana.

Stay tune for more.
