Leonard Smartt Granted Bail on Simple Larceny Charge

Leonard Smartt also known as Osanti Benjamin, a 20-year-old of Laing Avenue, Georgetown, Guyana, South America, appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court yesterday, before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman answering to a Simple Larceny charge which was committed on Aronco Construction Inc on September 23rd, 2022 at Providence, East Bank Demerara, Region 4.

The court heard that the accused stole one ‘ransom’ valued at $600,000, one sling cement valued at $70,000, one 2-inch water pump valued at $70,000, and a two-wheel Barrow valued at $30,000.

The accused pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him. In the end, the Magistrate granted him bail in the sum of $80,000. The matter was adjourned to November 11th, 2022 for statement and report.
