While some, especially die-hard government supports, have lauded “the government efforts,” many others have strongly criticized the mediocre work of art. For one, it is clear that the monument is a poor depiction of the image of an actual harpy eagle. Take a look.
To coincide with the recently completed Mandela to Eccles 4-lane highway, a new monument was also unveiled last evening, 14th of April, 2022 at Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, Guyana, South America.
Last year, we looked on in astonishment and bewilderment as the government announced plans to build a bypass road from Ogle on the East Coast of Demerara to Eccles on the East Bank. This is evidently intended to ease traffic congestion from Georgetown to Eccles. However, the traffic from Georgetown to Eccles is nothing compared to the traffic along the public road at Golden Grove where the four-lane highway converges into a two-lane road.
