The action leading up to what has been locally dubbed “the mother of all elections” in Guyana, South America heats up tomorrow (21st February, 2020) as members of the Police and Guyana Defense Force cast their votes to determine Guyana‘s next President and political leadership.
To accommodate soldiers and police across the country, ballot boxes, accompanied by GECOM staff and Party Agents for the various political parties across Guyana, will be transported to military bases and police stations across the country on the 21st of February, 2020. The votes will then be placed in sealed envelopes and will be mixed into the other votes which will be cast by citizens on the 2nd of March.
Advanced voting is done so that members of the disciplined services will not be disrupted from their line of duty on E-Day.
