24th of July, 2020. Georgetown, Guyana, South America.

The United States Ambassador, Sarah Ann Lynch, together with the British High Commissioner, Gregg Quinn, the Canadian High Commissioner, Lilian Chatterjee and the Ambassador of the European Union, Fernando Ponz Canto have issued a joint statement today, 24th of June, 2020, urging the Guyana Elections Commission to use the RECOUNT RESULTS to declare the winner of the March 2, 2020 elections. The recount results shows the PPP/C as the winner of the elections by over 15,000 votes.

This statement comes on the heels of a strong statement from the Organization of American States last evening (23rd of June) and the CARICOM (around midday, June 24th) urging all Guyanese to respect the results of the CARICOM certified recount. The COMMONWEALTH had, about two weeks ago, also issued a similar statement urging David Granger and his team to accept the results of the CARICOM certified recount and concede defeat. However, the defiant dictator seems genuinely unwilling to do so.

This obviously puts the APNU/AFC political party at a face off with a conglomerate of international powers which seem steadfast in ensuring that democracy prevails in Guyana, South America. But with the same strength, the APNU/AFC and its supporters seem bent on dragging Guyana down the path of dictatorship, impending sanctions, international isolation and economic stagnation – all apparently for the benefit of a greedy few and at the expense of the common people.

As the Jamaica Observer had put it about 2 months ago, “time to end this shameful circus in Guyana.”
