Outrage and disappointment continue to grow from both supporters of the government and opposition, as well as other parties, over the police response to Christopher Jones who allegedly “stole” millions of dollars worth in chairs and other items.
Lawyers for content that Mr. Jones acquired the items through legal means in a project whose completion was delayed and that there is no evidence to prove that he “stole” the items. Yet, several media houses have reported the matter as though Mr. Jones has “stolen” the items from the political office he held.
Before a proper investigation was carried and even a court summons issued, the police stormed the home of a Guyanese citizen in the dead of the night in what is seen as highly inappropriate and uncouth actions.
Many people are viewing the events of the night of 20th of August, 2020 between the Guyana Police Force and Christopher Jones and political vindictiveness and witch hunting.
