16-Year-Old Girl Killed in Police High Speed Chase

A 16-year-old girl of West Berbice, Region 5, Guyana, South America is one of the two fatalities of the high speed police chase which took place yesterday, 2nd of February, 2022 and ended in a smashup at the Mahaica Bridge in Region 4. The young woman, Shereeda Persaud, is said to have been the girlfriend of the 21-year-old man who was driving the Toyota Allion PNN 8852 when the police van slammed it into the path of a canter truck.

Police said they raised an alert which led to a patrol vehicle chasing the car after the driver drove off from at a fast rate from a roadblock.

CCTV footage shows the police van tailing the motorcar when it slammed the car into the path of a truck coming in the opposite direction.

Ironically, Shereeda Persaud had made an outstanding presentation for her school’s Youth Parliament programme where she played the role of the Minister of Home Affairs on the 19th of August, 2021. (Watch Video on Facebook)
