The local con artist who swindled a Region 9 woman of over $300,000 has sent a series of threatening messages to her, demanding that she retracts her story and publish an apology. If not, he says, he will take her picture to the Obeah man in Suriname where he is currently residing.
The con artist also told the woman that he was in Suriname trying to gather up her money to send to her when he read the article which was published a few days ago, and so he changed his mind. “Do you think I’ll bring you any money after what you did? Do you know what you did to me? I was going to gather the money from Suriname and come all the way up to Lethem and repay you, but look what you caused.” (Paraphrased).
The woman has since made several follow up reports to the Police Station about his threats.
